The Honda bikes are “pretty good looking”. But never judge by its’ look because its engineering could be bunch of crap. It had been proven those facts in the pass in Malaysian Boon Siew motor sdn bhd whereby there isn’t anymore reliablility as it was handle by the malaysian who merely does business for the sake of revenue and not reliablility of honda bikes. Hence, honda malaysian can’t be trusted anymore. Better choice in Malaysia is the YAMAHA bikes. Since early this year it was announce that the japanese had taken 50% of its share but question was, who’s managing the engineering of Honda’s bike! If its the japs, then, it can be trusted. Evidently the japs are much work orientated, who placed heart and soul into what they make. Unlike malaysian who merely design, design and re-design beautifying the outlook of the bike to blind the eyes of the buyer. Boon Siew motor sdn bhd had damaged & destroyed the beauty name of HONDA Japan.
This message is my personal view and experience with Honda bikes in Malaysia. Never will i trust its engineering hence forth.
However, you have your choice to make.
Honda PCX 125i Cruiser Scooter, wow, what a beauty. But if it is assemble by Boon Siew Malaysia, you better stay out of reach.
I see these bikes more and more, they are a good alternative for western people who in general are bigger than the average Thai.
Only 125 cc though, but it looks bigger and are bigger than the other alternatives, otherwise you have to go with Honda Phantom 200 cc.
Took one for a test drive today, great scooter.
Goes from 0-100kmh without a struggle.
I had a 250cc piaggio till about a month ago, but I find this scooter much more nippy and easier in traffic.
You don’t even feel the start stop feature when it goes on or off.
Great stopping power, CBS is excellent (above all very stable when you go hard on the brakes).
Very smooth over bumps, just need to get use to it’s minimal weight compared to my piaggio. You hardly feel the weight of the bike, it’s like you’re on a electric jet ski on water.
Only thing, the handle bars are to close to the driver. Just needs a bit of getting use to if you’re around my height (5′9).
