DetNews: Brandnew Ford Military Interceptor to be Taurus-based

Just the discerning note: The Detroit Headlines is stating which the subsequent Ford Military Interceptor will be formed on the same platform as the Taurus. For you platform geeks out there, that’s the Ford D3 framework which underpins everything from a the Lincoln MKS to the Volvo XC90 to a Ford Flex (though the Flex and a Lincoln MKT ride on the extended version called D4). Yesterday, you explained which a new Military Interceptor is showing up tomorrow (Friday, March 12) in Las Vegas as well as that it substantially won’t be roving on a Panther height. Regardless, the judgment will be unveiled at the Vegas Motor Speedway.
There’s still no central word from Ford on a make a difference, however. However, if the brandnew Interceptor is in fact Taurus-based, which equatesto no rear-wheel drive Falcon in a United States. Which is a clear bummer. Also, while there have been all-wheel expostulate variants of a D3 platform – and you think it’s protected to assume which if a new Police Interceptor is D3-based it will be AWD – it lacks frame rails. Has Ford figured out a way to make the unibody car tough enough for police work? We shall see. As we ll as if a new PI is the Taurus, will it be based on the mutated 365-horsepower SHO? We’d wager yes. Let’s just hope they fit alittle bigger brakes for patrolman avocation, eh?
