Preparing Vehicle
the. Make sure car is parked on level surface.
b. Set parking stop.
c. If engine has run in the past two hours, let it cool down.
d. Remove a battery cover and disconnect negative battery depot.
e. Do not discard batch components after removal of a factory system.
2. Removal of stock complement
a. Loosen the hose clamps attaching a primary stock intake pipe to the stifle body and the first stock intake pipe to a mass air upsurge sensor.
i. Mislay the primary stock intake siren.
b. Disconnect the wiring harness from the mass air upsurge sensor.
c. Remove the mass air flow sensor from the stock intake piping regulating a granted torx apparatus and set aside as it will be used in a designation of a AEM® intake. Be clever not to damage a mass air flow sensor.
d. Mislay a breather hose from the valve cover to the air cleaner housing.
e. Remove the air cleanser housing from a car. This is finished by pulling straight up on the housing. There have been no bolts holding a housing in.
f. Unfasten the battery by removing a battery tag.
g. Carefully lift the battery out of the car and place in the safe place.
h. Mislay the battery tray.
i. NOTE: Be sure to disconnect any harnesses which may be attached to a tray.
i. Remove the two cosmetic reason downs from the delegate intake tube.
j. Remove a secondary intake tube from the engine mountain by light straight up.
k. Remove a secondary intake bloodvessel by a front of the vehicle.
Designation of AEM® intake system.
the. When installing the intake complement, do not utterly tie a hose clamps or ascent hardware until instructed to do so.
b. On page 8 of a instructions are pictures of the AEM® intake complement installed on the Ford Focus to assistance support with the installation process.
c. Install the mass air flow sensor upon a AEM® intake piping using the factory bolts.
d. Implement a vast finish of the 90° reducer hose onto the stifle body.
i. Install a granted 3.5” and 2.75” hose clamps over the respective sections of a 90° reducer hose.
e. Remove the 10mm bolt from the distributor coil container joint and implement a rubber soft mount.
we. If your vehicle has an automatic delivery, then use asingle of a 1” long rubber mounts.
ii. If your vehicle has the primer delivery, then use a 5/8” long rubber mountain.
