Reader View: Subsequent Ford Explorer with Lincoln-esque grille held in LA?
Granted, these aren’t the clearest set of spy photos you’re going to see this week. Inanycase, they have been engaging as they uncover what appears to be the next-gen 2011 Ford Explorer with a informed face of a current Lincoln lineup grafted in place. Sure, it’s not terribly startling to see a luxurious Lincoln created from a more walking Ford product – it happens all the time – though because a Explorer ?
Consider that Lincoln already offers a pair of crossovers that are based upon existent Ford models, namely a MKX and a MKT. Consider too which a next Explorer will quit to a smaller, car-based crossover platform… as well as one wonders only how most CUVs the Lincoln brand could support.
So, just what is this camo’d vehicle we see roaming a streets? Could it be a brandnew Navigator (or the reconstruction of the ex-Explorer-based Flier, just a cobbled together mule from gangling tools which doesn’t have any production vigilant whatsoever, or something brandnew altogether?
