VW took a 20 per cent interest in Suzuki late last year – with VW chief Ferdinand Piech observant that he’d been captivated by “cutting-edge supermini record, improved participation in rising markets – and motorbikes”.
The latter criticism has sparked speculation which a VW Organisation could be considering building two-wheeled vehicles to attend with its burgeoning operation of cars, vans and trucks.
